RMS has talent!! So why not show it!! Auditions for the March 20th RMS Talent Show will be held next Wednesday, March 4th after school. Check in the music hallway for the audition sign-up sheet.

Students: we have Rochester Youth Baseball League forms in the office. Registration form deadline is March 14th. You will need to mail or take your forms to Rochester Glass or REMC.

RMS students get out there and sell, sell, sell. All the profits from the fundraising money will be used for activities here at RMS. Orders are due to your 4th period teacher on March 9th.

Lady Zebra Regional Champs T-Shirts will be sold during lunch this week. Shirts are $12 each and $14 for sizes 2x and larger. Please bring exact amount of money or a check written to RHS.

This week is the week before part 1 ISTEP testing. Much like the week before the big homecoming game, we want RMS students to try their best. As a result, this week we will have dress up days for ISTEP (1st periods will keep track and the grade level who participates the most will win a prize).
o Today (Zebra shirts) attack the test!
o Also, if you show for all days of testing and successfully complete the test you will receive a $5 Z cash bill.

****Teachers please take a count of how many students are participating in the ISTEP spirit day in your first period.  Please email Mrs. Bowyer the grade level and number participating each day.

iPads have been issued to every student at Rochester Middle School.  Each grade level teacher has requested iPad applications that will assist in teaching 21st century skills and increase student achievement.  Many textbooks can be accessed on-line.  RMS students will be using a learning management system called “My Big Campus.”  Parents can checkup on student assignments and grades by signing into “My Big Campus” and/or “Harmony.”

21st Century Scholar Program

Eighth graders are reminded to apply for the 21st Century Scholar Program and, if eligible, be awarded a 21st Century Scholarship that covers your tuition to a state college for four years. Online application can be found at www.scholars.in.gov. See Ms. Menis at the office for more information.

Incorrect Phone Number

In the Rochester phone book, for Rochester Community Schools, the Middle School Attendance Office phone number is listed as 223-1521. That is incorrect and no longer in service. Parents should call the school at 223-2280 and the phone will prompt you to push #8 for the attendance.
